The Entrepreneurs Academy (“TEA,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Notice
explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information about individuals applying to
participate in our programs (“Applicants”) and their parents or legal guardians.
TEA is committed to protecting Applicant information in compliance with applicable privacy laws,
including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and the Children’s Online Privacy
Protection Act (COPPA).
1. Information We Collect.
We collect personal information directly from Applicants, their parents or legal guardians, and, in some
cases, from schools or sponsoring organizations. The types of information we collect may include:
a. Applicant name
b. Date of birth and age
c. Preferred pronouns
d. Applicant Contact Information (email address, phone number, home address)
e. Parent/guardian/emergency contact name and contact information
f. Applicant Academic Information (School name, grade level, GPA)
g. Applicant Committee Preferences & Interests
h. Allergies, dietary restrictions, or relevant medical information (for event safety)
i. Emergency contact information
j. T-shirt size or other apparel sizing information (to provide you with TEA swag!)
k. Photos (to document your journey)
Note: TEA does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13. A
parent or legal guardian must submit the application form on behalf of any Applicant under age 13.
2. How We Use Applicant Information.
We use the personal information collected for the following purposes:
a. Administering program applications and enrollment
b. Communicating with Applicants and parents/guardians
c. Coordinating workshops, classes, transportation, meals, and events
d. Managing emergency or health-related needs
e. Providing T-shirts, swag, or other program materials
f. Sending program-related updates, surveys, and announcements
g. Sharing limited Applicant information with mentors or volunteers for educational purposes
h. Sharing photos and videos of applicants engaged in TEA activities on social media, the TEA website,
and YouTube to document Applicant journeys and promote TEA activities
Note: We do not sell or rent Applicant personal information to any third parties.
3. How We Share Applicant Information.
We may share Applicant and parent/guardian information with:
a. Program staff and authorized volunteers who need the information to administer the program
b. Mentors, judges, or speakers (only where necessary for participation)
c. Service providers who assist in operating our website, application system, or communication tools
(e.g., email, event registration)
d. Medical personnel or emergency responders in the event of a health or safety issue
e. Venue, event, and transport service providers related to TEA events and corporate tours (only where
necessary for participation and/or safety)
Note: All service providers and volunteers are required to use Applicant information only for authorized
purposes and to protect it from unauthorized access or disclosure.
4. How We Protect Applicant Information.
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Applicant
information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. These include:
a. Restricting access to personal information to authorized TEA personnel and volunteers
b. Encrypting electronic records and requiring strong passwords (via vetted third party platforms)
c. Limiting paper records and storing limited paper records (agreements) in locked storage cabinet
d. Requiring confidentiality and data protection commitments from anyone with access to Applicant
information
5. How Long We Keep Applicant Information.
We retain Applicant information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Notice.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information:
a. Program administration records: retained until the end of the program year plus up to five years
b. Declined or incomplete applications: retained for up to 5 years
c. Contact information: kept until deletion is requested
d. Promotional materials: kept as needed based on agreement
e. Health or emergency information: retained only during program participation, then securely deleted
f. Program materials and outputs: may be retained indefinitely with consent or after de-identification
Note: We periodically review records to ensure deletion/anonymization when no longer needed.
6. Parents’ and Applicants’ Rights.
Parents or guardians (and Applicants aged 13–17, in some cases) have the right to:
a. Request access to or a copy of their personal information
b. Request correction or deletion of inaccurate or outdated information
c. Withdraw consent
d. Opt out of non-essential communications

7. Cookies and Website Analytics.
We may use cookies or analytics tools to improve website experience. We do not track Applicants for
advertising purposes.
8. Changes to This Notice.
Updates may occur periodically; “Last Updated” indicates most current version. Material changes will
be communicated via website/email.
