TEA Curriculum

Complete Entrepreneurial Education, Networking Opportunities, and Hands-On Experience

An extracurricular for high school & middle school students.

The TEA curriculum incorporates the Lean canvas method, which is a methodology for developing businesses and products that aims to shorten product development cycles and rapidly discover if a proposed business model is viable. This is achieved by adopting a combination of business-hypothesis-driven experimentation, iterative product releases, and validated learning. The Lean canvas model is a business model template that allows students to organize their business plan in a logical way.

In addition, students learn about Design Thinking, which provides a solution-based approach to solving problems. This approach is extremely useful in tackling complex problems that are ill-defined or unknown, by understanding the human needs involved, by re-framing the problem in human-centric ways, by creating many ideas in brainstorming sessions, and by adopting a hands-on approach in prototyping and testing.

The TEA curriculum teaches students to use the nine building blocks of the Lean canvas model: Unique Value Proposition, Unfair advantage, Channels, Customer Segmentation, Problem, Solution, Key Metrics, Cost Structure, and Revenue Streams. This model is typically used for startups, and it allows students to develop a solid business plan that addresses all aspects of the business.
